Important Information
By using our website you agree to these general Terms of Use, and to the terms of our Privacy Policy. Any queries about these terms or a car rental should be directed to European Car Rental.
Finalising a booking with us signifies that you, the renter has agreed to and accepted all conditions on our website, including the ‘Terms & Price details- (TAC)’, therefore all elements should be thoroughly read and understood.
At any time we have the right to modify these terms.
Note: ‘Terms & Price details- (TAC)’ of your rental are available when making a booking online and are also found in the customer account of a confirmed booking.
The above constitutes a request from you to European Car Rental to find a car rental deal from one of our wide range of providers.
Any contract entered into at the local destination is exclusively between yourself and the car rental provider and under no circumstances is European Car Rental a party to this contract.
The rental vehicle will be delivered to you directly by our provider in our capacity as acting agent.
Your signature on any rental contract agreement is definite proof to the acceptance of the services and terms imposed by the rental company and to the respective laws of the country in which the rental will take place.

European Car Rental accepts no liability for the refusal by the car rental company to provide the vehicle in the event of any problems having arisen with regards to the terms of your contract. We undertake no compensation or refund of any kind in respect of any costs incurred as a result of a change to your arrangements.
The above is binding and applies to all contracts associated with the supply of our services excluding all other warranties and terms. No action by European Car Rental will signify conformity of any other terms or conditions.
In the case of any dispute arising between you and European Car Rental, our liability to you, if any, is limited up to the initial amount paid to us.

Consequential loss
European Car Rental is not liable for indirect losses which occur as a side effect of the main loss or damage which are not foreseeable either by you, or the renter and European Car Rental. Nor are we liable for loss of profits, loss of opportunity, consequential losses, loss of goodwill, damages or charges etc. associated to the issue.

Force Majeure
European Car Rental cannot be held responsible for the inability to deliver the obligations, for any reason, expected under or pursuant to this booking due to any unexpected or disruptive circumstances reasonably beyond our control, hindered or prevented as a result of force majeure. In the case of Force Majeure the booking and all insurances become invalid.
For a confirmed booking, in the event that the local provider is unable to perform its obligations in providing the vehicle due to insolvency, we will do our best to re-direct your booking to another car rental company. In peak periods this may not be achievable. In such a case where we have no alternative provider, you will be notified of this, the booking will be cancelled and the advance payment returned.

European Car Rental assumes no responsibility for the accuracy and validity of any travel information or links provided on its website. Such resources are used at your own risk.
Access to our website is normally available 24 hours a day. On the rare occasion the search engine may be temporarily unavailable due to system maintenance, updating or circumstances beyond the control of European Car Rental. Assistance can be sought via the customer help line.
Quotes obtained for a car rental are given according to details supplied, so their accuracy depends entirely on data provided by you.
At any time European Car Rental reserves the right to modify the contents of its website without prior notice.
No responsibility or liability can be taken by European Car Rental if the terms and conditions of the rental provider as shown on the search engine differ from those at the time of pick up. Or for the failure in the rental taking place due to missing or incorrect documentation (voucher, credit card, drivers license etc.) not being presented locally.
European Car Rental undertakes no responsibility for extra costs incurred due to documentation having been signed for and accepted locally.

Booking Conditions
No booking fee.
No credit card fee applies (except for payment made by PayPal) during the booking process.
Bookings are placed online on our website using a credit card, debit card or PayPal.
Note: Debit cards and PayPal can only be used on our website. Our local providers rarely accept debit cards or PayPal.
We as the acting agent do our best to confirm the order at the lowest price and as quickly as possible.
Our online system means the confirmation is normally received within a few minutes of the booking being placed (12 hours maximum, rarely more).

Declined Booking
On the rare occasion that your booking cannot be confirmed by our first provider due to unavailability, we will make every effort ‘Without Changing Your Total Rental Amount’ to send your booking to another provider to get confirmation.
You will be informed of this. NB. In such a case the TAC’s may change.

Purchasing Options Online
As European Car Rental operates internationally we offer our customers 3 ways of purchasing their car rental.
You can choose the easiest and most convenient method of purchasing a car rental to suit you. Check out the options below:

1) Book Now: Pay Later (No down payment and no credit card required online) Rental amount is paid in full at time of car pick up at the rental desk.
A voucher is issued with all necessary details of the local car provider.

2) Part Paid – Book Now: Pay Later (with a down payment and confirmation)
You pay a small amount when the order is confirmed.
A voucher is issued with all necessary details of the local car provider.
Remaining amount payable at rental desk on date of pick up as stated on your voucher.

3) Fully Paid
Rental amount is paid in full at time of booking.
A voucher is issued with all necessary details of the local car provider.

Any order unable to be confirmed is cancelled along with the reserved payment.
Note: Prices online are displayed in preferred currency. Rates are shown with an exchange rate of the day. (Small differences may occur due to exchange rate policy of your credit card company).
Any transactions made on our website will be processed in Euro currency.
Any extra equipment/services purchased locally will be charged in the currency of the destination.
Any Remaining Rental Amount is paid at the destination in the local currency.

Cancellation Policy
Free of Charge for Cancellations made online via “My Booking” 48 hours before the rental start date.
Cancellations less than 48 hours incur a non-refundable maximum amount of 50 Euro* (or equivalent currency).
*Due to the currency exchange rate used by your bank this amount may be slightly higher or lower.
No Refund is made for a No Show or failure to produce the correct documentation (voucher, drivers license/s, credit card etc.).

Amendments and Changes
Amendment of a Confirmed Booking.
Made via “My Booking” online.
When an amendment is made a new order is created.
Until new order (amendment) is confirmed by rental provider the original order remains valid.
After confirmation, the original order is automatically cancelled and all related payments will be adjusted.
Please Note: Amending your booking is FREE OF CHARGE
Prices vary and local provider may be different. New voucher will be issued.
Amending a not confirmed booking results in the original order being cancelled immediately.
Extension of a booking in rental can be made either by making a new booking via European Car Rental (requires confirmation by a local provider, not necessarily the same) or by arranging it with the local provider.
In the case where the customer wishes to drop the car off earlier than booked, European Car Rental will not refund any amount for the unused days; it is entirely up to the car rental company whether they decide to do so or not.

Optional items and Fees
Optional insurances/ options purchased locally are controlled by the local rental provider.
Options can be subject to availability even when booked. No charge made locally for unavailable items.
Any kind of alteration made locally to your rental, such as a change in pick up/ drop off time/ date/ locations etc. which is different to that stated on your voucher, could incur extra charges.
Any fees for ‘optional items’ mentioned below will be shown in ‘Add Options’ on the car selection page after you select an item and press the relevant button to see its price. Rarely it may occur that fees for optional items may be changed between the reservation date and the rental start date.
Even if item is shown as free online it must still be ordered at time of booking.

Child seats
Mandatory in most countries, must be ordered at the time of booking.
Note: Standard of Baby/ child seats in other countries may differ.
Taking your own is recommended.
Due to insurance rules you will be required to fit the seat in the car.

Roof racks, ski racks, snow chains, winter tyres, Wi-Fi devices and Navigation System – GPS .
Are available in some locations, must be ordered at the time of booking.
Unavailable for some vehicles.
All the above mentioned equipment is subject to availability in some locations, even when booked in advance. No charge made locally if unavailable.

Additional drivers
In most locations one additional driver is ‘Free of Charge’.
Must be ordered (even if free) at time of booking.
Note: Any young driver fee applicable to additional drivers will be paid locally.

Across the border rentals
Are usually allowed.
Detailed information is shown in ‘Terms & Price details’- TAC’s’ on the car selection page.
If chosen, the “Inclusive Zero excess” package provides coverage only within the country where the rental car is picked up and the “Cross Border Card” extends the “Inclusive Zero excess” package to other countries but it must be ordered online.

Ferrying the rental car
Domestic is normally allowed, must be requested at the destination. Any extra cost will be paid locally. You must inform the car rental company that you will take the car on a ferry.

Driving License & Age Limits
In all cases, a full valid driving licence is required at all destinations. If a new style British driver’s license is held, both paper and card parts must be produced. In some countries, an International driving licence is also required in addition to the National license.

Delivery & Collection Charges
Any ‘out of operating hour’ charges, if applicable, are always INCLUDED in our prices.
Any deviation from the confirmed pick up/ return times on your voucher could incur extra charges, closed station or your booking treated as No Show.
We strongly recommend contacting your local provider in the case of any time change.

Hotel Deliveries
Can normally be made to Hotels located ‘within the city limits’- meaning hotels situated within the centre of the city radius.
Hotel details must be given at time of booking.
All Hotel deliveries are on request basis and are only accepted if confirmation is received.
Note: Usually deliveries to private addresses cannot be made.

Other items and services
All Taxes, Airport surcharges and Fees are included in our prices.
Details on the Inclusions/ Exclusions or Mandatory items relating to your rental are shown on our website during the booking procedure and in ‘Terms & Price details- TAC’s’ on the car selection page. All is shown and nothing is hidden!
Unlimited Mileage & Roadside Assistance/ Breakdown Assistance (included in most locations) Check in ‘Terms & Price details- TAC’s’ on the car selection page.

Insurance Packages offered:

All our car groups have a corresponding cover package as shown on the car selection page. Note: You might see the same car group shown twice with a different package along side. Check the package and price carfully in order to choose a suitable cover for your requirements.

Full Insurance ZERO excess/deductible
This package normally includes:
* rental rates
* unlimited mileage (except if in ‘Terms & Price details- TAC’s’ states differently)
* All Taxes, Airport Surcharges and Fees
* Third Party Liability (Liability Insurance for damages or injuries to any 3rd party outside the vehicle).
Details on the coverage amounts will be stated per each car category/ country on the car selection page and on the voucher.
*FDW covers liability for damage to the vehicle or its parts and accessories.
*Theft protection (covers you against theft of the rental car.)
With this package you are FULLY Covered and your liability in the event of damage or theft is ZERO! (except for typical exclusions)*

Full Insurance ZERO excess (refundable) & Zero excess-relax (refundable)
This package normally includes:
* rental rates
* unlimited mileage (except if in ‘Terms & Price details- TAC’s’ states differently)
* All Taxes, Airport Surcharges and Fees
* Third Party Liability (Liability Insurance for damages or injuries to any 3rd party outside the vehicle).
Details on the coverage amounts will be stated per each car category/ country on the car selection page and on the voucher.
*CDW covers liability for damage to the vehicle or its parts and accessories.
*Theft protection (covers you against theft of the rental car).
With this package you are FULLY PROTECTED and your liability in the event of damage or theft to the rental car is protected by European Car Rental (except for typical exclusions)*

Let us explain further!

In the unlucky event of theft or damage to the rental car, the local car rental provider will charge you the first portion of the claim, up to the excess amount (usually 3% to 8% of the value of the car).
Maximum excess amounts are shown in ‘Terms & Price details- TAC’s’- on the car selection page during the booking procedure.
European Car Rental will refund you this cost.

Full Insurance with excess
This package normally includes:
* rental rates
* unlimited mileage (except if in ‘Terms & Price details- TAC’s’ states differently)
* All Taxes, Airport Surcharges and Fees
* Third Party Liability (Liability Insurance for damages or injuries to any 3rd party outside the vehicle.)
Details on the coverage amounts will be stated per each car category/ country on the car selection page and on the voucher.
*CDW covers liability for damage to the vehicle or its parts and accessories.
*Theft protection (covers you against theft of the rental car).
With this package you are FULLY PROTECTED, except for the first portion of the claim (Excess) in the event of damage or theft to the rental car.

This package normally includes:
* rental rates
* unlimited mileage (except if in ‘Terms & Price details- TAC’s’ states differently)
* All Taxes, Airport Surcharges and Fees
Any claims, demands or damages to 3rd parties (including the rental vehicle) is the sole responsibility of the renter.
Important Note: When selecting this package, we strongly recommend that you check with your credit card company/ insurance agent to ascertain if in the event of damage or injury to a third party (including rental vehicle, damage & theft), you as the renter are covered/ protected for any such related claims and costs to the value of the deductible or any outlay that arise.
In some locations this package also includes third party insurance.

*Typical Exclusions for CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
Even when the ‘zero excess’ cover package has been selected there are some typical exclusions such as windscreens, tyres, undercarriage, replacement locks, replacement keys and towing charges. (List is not exhaustive.)
At some destinations, you can purchase an extra insurance cover for these exceptions, locally.
In such cases you, the renter will undertake full responsibility of any damages or costs arising as a result.
In case of damage as result of an accident caused due to violation of the traffic law or negligence our local partner may charge you not only the excess but the full amount of the damage according to their terms and conditions. If, according to the local car rental company’s judgement, the customer should be charged the full amount of the damage, European Car Rental will only compensate the customer up to the excess amount. In case a customer has multiple (two or more) damage incidents during the hire period, only one excess coverage/compensation will be provided by European Car Rental (up to maximum excess amount). Should the customer be involved in an accident, where the cause was not that of the customer’s, the customer is still responsible for the non-waiverable excess until such time as the third party recovery has been paid to the car hire company, who will then reimburse the customer. Any administration management fees or location (airport, railway, etc.) fees which may be charged on the damage excess are not refundable.

*Important: All Insurance cover becomes invalid when any persons are found to be driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, wilfully causing damage, off- road driving and driving in a careless and negligent manner.

Provision of a car
Bookings are confirmed according to vehicle categories and not according to individual models. The named cars on the website serve ONLY as typical examples for the size, specifications and performance of a vehicle category.
The rental provider will supply a vehicle according to the specifications of the booked car group.
The local car rental company reserves the right to upgrade the selected vehicle category on site to a higher one if the booked vehicle category is not available.
European Car Rental Excess Cover Service will only cover up to the excess amount of the car category confirmed on the car rental voucher.
It is your responsibility to ensure the category booked is suitable for your needs, as we cannot be liable for incorrect choice resulting in the refusal of rentals locally due to too many persons.

Breakdown/ Accident
In the event of a breakdown or accident etc. you must contact the local provider
immediately for instructions and assistance. It is highly recommended to call the police even for the smallest of damages.All related documentation must be kept if an insurance claim is submitted.

European Car Rental has the right to blacklist any persons from its website when found to be engaging in fraudulent transactions or acting in a dishonest manner.
European Car Rental will not fail to take legal action in cases of insurance fraud or any kind of attempt at deceit in order to acquire funds illegally.

Security of Transactions
European Car Rental is committed to ensure that the information you provide when making a booking is secure. To ensure this we are using the latest internet security tools and equipment. This information is stored in a secure computer with limited physical access, no internet access, nor on a web server which has internet access.

Booking Information
When you place a booking with European Car Rental your personal details are required in order to process the booking (your name, surname, telephone number, credit card details, e-mail address, driver’s age and flight info). As European Car Rental acts as a booking agent, it is necessary to pass essential booking information to our car rental providers. This information will be transferred to the country where your booking will take place. By submitting your booking you consent to this transfer of information for the purpose described above. In our Privacy Policy you can learn how we protect your personal data.

Telephone Calls
European Car Rental may occasionally record telephone conversations for training and quality purposes of our customer service personnel.

Cookies are small text files that are sent to your web browser and stored on the hard drive of your computer. Your browser settings can be set to inform you before receiving a cookie. European Car Rental does make use of cookies for the evaluation of customer service. European Car Rental does not use cookies to store any private information or credit card details. The Cookies contain a session id number and basic information about the visit location and other non-private visitor details. (Example: Cookie will contain the information which country you selected when you visited European Car Rental website.) European Car Rental evaluates the cookie information in order to monitor the visitors to the website and helps us improve the design, content and service of the website.

European Car Rental occasionally uses e-mail service to send new promotions, seasonal special deals and other news updates. At any time you can unsubscribe from this service by clicking here or on the unsubscribe link on the email. European Car Rental may make use of the non-private information (for example: visit location, age etc.) solely for internal use in order to help us evaluate our customer service, marketing analysis and site related information. European Car Rental follows all the available security precautions in order to protect your privacy and personal details.

Third Party Disclosure
European Car Rental never discloses personal information about its customers to third parties without prior consent, except if legally obligated to or in case of an emergency. European Car Rental will not sell or rent any personally identifiable information. We may provide statistics about our customers, sales and booking patterns and related information to third parties but in such cases this information will not contain personally identifying information.

In order to serve and develop our services better, we send evaluation forms to our customers after the rental has finished.
The evaluation form consists of 9 questions asking customers to score and rate the local car rental provider. This gives us a clear idea of how each of our stations are performing at any time.
Evaluating our locations also means European Car Rental and our providers can use these experiences to develop our services to the highest standard expected.
Any customer comments and experiences posted on our website help other users to make informed choices.

Personal Data Control
We are using the very latest online secure technology to protect the transfer and storage of your private personal data.
You reserve the right to review the personal data which you have stored with us by logging into the ‘My Booking’ facility on our website using your email address and booking number.
Due to security reasons stated above credit card details are not stored and are only used during the secure bank transaction but in the event of any issue with your credit card related to the submission of your card details online, European Car Rental and its associated parties (owners, directors, managers, employees etc.) are not responsible for any problems, damages or losses etc. occurred as a result of using the website, booking engine or any of its contents.
By using European Car Rental website, you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy concerning our collection, storage and use of your personal data. In the event that we change the Privacy Policy we will post any changes on our website, so that you are always aware of the information which we collect, how we make use of it and under which conditions we may disclose it.

Complaints Procedure
Our website is designed to prevent issues but we do understand that difficulties arise from time to time.
For any concerns whilst the booking is in rental please contact the local provider directly. (Their number will be on your voucher).
For finished rentals, complaints are handled via email only. All related documents must be forwarded to:
We aim to resolve complaints within 40 days but depending on the nature it may take slightly longer.
European Car Rental can only consider complaints that reach them within 40 days of the final day of rental to which the rental voucher refers.
Actions against European Car Rental are restricted to the laws that occur within the jurisdiction of the local courts of Bulgaria.
European Car Rental will not fail to comply with all regulations enforced by legal authorities.
Actions against our car rental providers are restricted to the governing laws within the jurisdiction of the car rental’s country courts.

It is forbidden to use the website of European Car Rental for any purpose other than for the personal use of booking a car rental.
You are not to use our website or the search engine for any illegal actions or transactions. It is prohibited to retrieve or try to retrieve any kind of information from our site, to damage or interfere with the normal functioning.
We continually control the activity and usage of our website and any abnormal activity on our site deemed as suspicious will result in access being denied.
